Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz said President Barack Obama’s administration was governed by “lawlessness” in a speech Friday.
At a speech for Texas Public Policy Foundation, Cruz lambasted the administration for its handling of the rollout of Obamacare, the Texas Tribune reports.
“Obamacare has single-handedly been an illustration in lawlessness at a breathtaking scale,” Cruz said, citing the various exemptions to the law and the delays of various parts of the law, and the problems plaguing the website that necessitated delaying several deadlines for insurance. He also knocked Obama for the promise that people could keep their health plans if they liked them, which turned out not to be the case.
“There is a level at which all of this is ludicrous, but there is also a level at which all of this is dangerous and terrifying,” Cruz said.
Cruz, a potential 2016 presidential hopeful, spoke for over 21 hours on the Senate floor last year in an attempt to delay a vote to fund Obamacare.
