Derrick Coleman, a fullback for the Seattle Seahawks, is the first legally deaf offensive player to ever play in the NFL after signing with the Seahawks for the 2013 season.

Despite Coleman’s impressive run playing with UCLA, he was not drafted when he became eligible in 2012. He proved his worth, though, after he caught three catches for 30 yards his very first game, and scored an important touchdown in the Seahawks’ first game against the New Orleans Saints in the beginning of December.

Coleman is now starring in Duracell’s new “Trust your power” campaign with a touching ad outlining the adversity he had to overcome. The ad campaign also has a commercial featuring San Francisco 49ers’ linebacker Patrick Willis, reports The Post Game.

Coleman and the Seahawks beat the New Orleans Saints 23-15 on Saturday and are slated to play the 49ers on Sunday evening to decide who goes to the Superbowl.
