Vince Young, former NFL quarterback and hero of the 2006 Rose Bowl for the University of Texas, filed for bankruptcy last week, the Houston Chronicle reports.

After his shining collegiate career, Young was the No. 3 draft pick in 2006 and played for the Tennessee Titans for five seasons. In 2011, he started in three games for the Philadelphia Eagles, but hasn’t seen the playing field since then.

Now, just eight years after signing a whopping $25.7 million rookie contract deal, the quarterback has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and is trying to sue his former financial adviser Ronnie Peoples, and his former agent Major Adams II, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Young is claiming that he never received the $1.8 million loan from Pro Player Funding that he took out during the NFL lockout in 2011 because Peoples and Adams swindled him. Over the past two years, the loan has racked up $2.5 million in interest.

Young’s assets are listed at $500,001 to $1 million where his liabilities have an estimated total of $1,001,000 to $10 billion.

He will have a hard battle if he plans on solving his money problems with football, seeing as he was cut from the Buffalo Bills and the Green Bay Packers before the past two seasons even started.
