Wendy Davis supporters mock Greg Abbott’s wheelchair, ignore voter fraud [VIDEO]

Conservative activist James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas released a new video on Thursday showing Wendy Davis supporters mocking her gubernatorial opponent Greg Abbott for being in a wheelchair.

In the undercover footage Davis supporters are seen saying things like

“I’m really wondering how this is going to work out, since he’s in a wheelchair and most the slogans are ‘Stand with Wendy,’” one supporter said.

“What I think is amazing is he is in a wheelchair, but he has no sympathy for anyone or anyway,” said another.

Yet another criticized Abbott for not looking handsome enough — and, of course, for having no use of his legs.

“First of all, he is not good looking. He doesn’t speak very well; he doesn’t have a good personality; and he’s in a wheelchair.”

The video also shows a woman whom Project Veritas identifies as a Deputy Registrar covering her ears and saying “people do that all the time” when asked about forging signatures on absentee ballots. Another person in the video, identified as a Battleground Texas volunteer, adds, “ I don’t think it’s legal but I didn’t hear you say that.”

Davis came under fire this week after she reacted to a Dallas Morning News report detailing a number of factual gaps in her personal story by saying her paraplegic opponent “hasn’t walked a day in my shoes.”

According to Project Veritas, this is the first video in a series of exposes.

UPDATE: In a statement reported by The Texas Tribune, Davis called the comments “abhorrent.”

“Greg Abbott has persevered through great personal challenge to raise a family, have a productive career, and for that he deserves our respect,” she said.
