Media Matters, a liberal activist organization founded by Hillary Clinton loyalist David Brock, is mighty ticked at The New York Times. In a Friday blog post, the organization complained about the cover The New York Times Magazine used for an article about her called “Planet Hillary.”
“Today, by lining up New York Times Magazine covers featuring current, former, and would-be national political figures over the past five years, Media Matters for America demonstrates the hypocrisy of New York Times Magazine on Hillary Clinton,” an email promoting the blog read.
The Times is the same paper that in December published a widely derided series of articles blaming, in part, an Internet video for a fatal terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya. The article would have helped to clear a hurdle for Hillary Clinton’s likely presidential ambitions, though it was overshadowed by a later Senate report that disagreed with the story’s conclusions.
In December, Media Matters lauded the Times’ reporting.
