In an exclusive interview with The Daily Caller, co-author of the book “Disinformation: Former Spy Chief Reveals Secret Strategies For Undermining Freedom, Attacking Religion, and Promoting Terrorism,” Ronald Rychlak laid bare the truth behind the International Criminal Court.

“This new court has the idea that we will punish really bad people, who I believe should be punished — I’m not against that — but we will make sure that no evil tyrant, dictator, person ever escapes justice,” said the University of Mississippi law school professor. “Which in the abstract sounds wonderful.”

Rychlak explained that while the idea of pursuing dictators like Muammar Gaddafi to bring them to justice may seem like a worthwhile moral crusade, it opens the gates to some very dangerous precedents.

“Now you are creating this institution, this institution that has essentially, eventually, hopefully, [for the people who are structuring the court] universal jurisdiction,” he said. “It will have the ability to create rules that will have global impact. As we have watched the growth of the federal judiciary and Federal government over the past fifty years in the United States, can you imagine projecting that onto an international scale?”

According to Rychlak, the people who support the International Criminal Court have a single-minded approach. He recounted a meeting he had with Ben Ferencz, the chief prosecutor at the Nuremberg war crimes and architect of the International Criminal Court.

“I was talking to him one-on-one like this, and he said to me, ‘You have to understand, I’m a One Worlder,'” Rychlak said. “He believes in a one world government and this international court is his brainchild. If you believe in national sovereignty, if you believe that people should have the right to form their own futures, build their own futures. The international criminal court raises a lot of concerns.”
