You might not know Hubertus von Hohenlohe, but you should.
The 55-year-old six-time Olympian will be skiing for Mexico at Sochi. He doesn’t expect to win medals, but that’s fine with him, seeing as how he’s a German prince.
In addition to his royal status, he is a celebrated photographer, professional musician and heir to an automobile fortune. He is also fluent in five languages. You should also check out his mariachi-themed racing suit for Sochi.

The suit was designed to celebrate his close connection to Mexico, despite having grown up in Spain and holding both Austrian and Liechtensteinian citizenships.
“The power to have your own identity is so strong and something I believe in so I want to give it a go in a very cool, elegant way,” He explained to NBC Sports. “I want to celebrate who they are, but of course in my own style.”
This suit, designed by Kappa, is not the first time he’s gotten stylish and patriotic with his racing gear. In Vancouver, he wore a “Mexicano desperado” suit, complete with ammo belt and pistols.
He competed in the Olympics for the first time in 1984 in Sarajevo. He hopes that people will not begrudge his wealth or family ties.
“I can understand how they would think that this rich prince bought himself into the Olympics so that he can show off his cool racing suits, or whatever,” he told NBC in December. “I am not hiding behind a pile of money to realize my dreams. I have Mexican roots.”
He is more likely to drink Dom Perignon than Dos Equis, but Hubertus von Hohenlohe is, without a doubt, the most interesting man in the world right now.
