Cox Media’s Rare is lacking in self-awareness

Well, this is just uncomfortable.

images-1Rare, an allegedly (but pssst…not really) conservative website based in Alexandria, Va. and owned by Cox Media in Atlanta, pays to run syndicated columnists from Creators Syndicate, one of which happens to be Washington Examiner commentator Michael Barone. In his current column, Barone mentions significant political setbacks for Republican presidential aspirants for 2016.

In paragraph 8, he lists one of Sen. Rand Paul‘s (R-Ky.) major setbacks as being “the revelation that a top staffer was a Confederate States sympathizer.” That sympathizer would be Rare’s Neo-Confederate Southern Avenger and newest editorial hire, Jack Hunter, whom they brought on to be their editor.

Of course, this column ripping the Southern Avenger is currently posted on Rare, the Avenger’s current employer.

Rare is is nothing if not self-aware.
