Politico, the high octane media outlet, has its priorities intact this morning in the writeup of Ryan Loskarn‘s suicide note that he left before hanging himself in his parents’ basement in Sykesville, Md. Loskarn was the chief of staff to Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) at the time of his arrest on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography. He was reportedly facing up to two decades in prison. Loskarn’s parents released their son’s final words online Monday night.

Politico, however, waited out the goodness of their hearts. No wait, they delayed publishing the letter because they were trying to be sensitive and careful. That doesn’t necessarily sound like Politico, who likes to get things first and think later.

No wait, what? They got scooped by Loskarn’s mother who posted the letter Monday night? Where are your priorities people? The news never stops.

The Mirror is not being facetious about the release of the letter or even Politico writing about it  this morning. But we are pointing out the publication’s need in a story by John Bresnahan to point out that they had the letter Monday afternoon before everyone else but chose not to publish it.

The line: “POLITICO obtained the letter on Monday afternoon but planned to delay publishing a story until Tuesday in an effort to find out more regarding the circumstances surrounding it. POLITICO contacted Loskarn’s family, but they did not comment.”

Because to Politico, that really matters, for some reason.
