The White House retweets the Drudge Report

A White House press secretary retweeted the Drudge Report, Tuesday evening.

In advance of President Obama’s State of the Union address, White House assistant press secretary Bobby Whithorne retweeted a Drudge Report tweet about Obama’s expected call for a “year of action” in 2014.

While retweets generally don’t imply an endorsement, it is surprising that a member of the administration’s press shop would gravitate to a Drudge tweet, given the conservative site’s toughness on the administration.

It has been reported that the White House doesn’t really like the conservative site.

Indeed White House Press Secretary Jay Carney once advised a reporter to “be mindful of your sources” when asked about a Drudge Report article.
