Dorito dust — the orange powder that gets on your fingers after sticking your grubby hands into a bag of chips (preferably Cool Ranch) is commonly called — is a fairly common issue among five-year-olds, college freshmen and, apparently, Jennifer Lawrence.

She may be a beautiful millionaire, but she isn’t too good to eat Doritos and get them on her custom-made movie costumes.

Michael Wilkinson, the costume designer for “American Hustle,” told Vanity Fair that Lawrence got Dorito stains all over the low-cut jersey dress she wears in the film.

Wilkinson said that there were several copies of the dresses made because Lawrence’s character was originally supposed to spill Champagne all over herself during the climactic scene where where she kisses Amy Adams’ character. That didn’t end up happening in the film, but the backup dresses came in handy when the Dorito problem arose.

“Jennifer Lawrence is a very…let’s say…raw and intuitive young lady, and she’s not against eating Doritos and snack food in her costume,” Wilkinson said. “So we were glad that we had a couple [backups].”
