This furniture store lost $7 MILLION on the Super Bowl, and they didn’t even buy an ad

Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale picked the wrong team when he decided to use the Super Bowl for his furniture store promotion. Due to his unlucky choice, he now has to pay back around seven million dollars to customers.

McIngvale told customers that if they purchased over $6,000 in furniture, they would get a total refund if the Seahawks won. Unfortunately for Mattress Mack, not only did lots of people buy into the Texas store’s wager, the Seahawks destroyed the Broncos.

He doesn’t seem to regret the gamble, though.

He told Fox26, “I couldn’t be happier. We’re here to help customers be happy and they’re happy tonight.” He said the promotion was still a success as it drummed up lots of new business for the store, which is what matters most to him.

This isn’t the first time he’s lost big either. He forked up $600,000 to customers in a previous football bet.
