The Obama donor leading the federal criminal investigation into the IRS targeting scandal is “highly unlikely” to appear at Thursday’s House oversight committee hearing on the status of her own investigation.

Department of Justice trial attorney Barbara Bosserman, who contributed $6,750  to President Barack Obama’s campaigns and the Democratic National Committee since 2004, was tasked with leading the DOJ’s investigation into the improper targeting of conservative groups between 2010 and 2012.

Bosserman was invited, but is “highly unlikely” to attend the Oversight Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Job Creation and Regulatory Affairs’ 9:30 Thursday morning hearing, “The IRS Targeting Investigation: What is the Administration Doing?,” according to insiders.

The hearing will feature several representatives from targeted tea party groups.

DOJ did not immediately comment for this report.

The federal investigation into the IRS targeting scandal, which Obama said did not involve even a “smidgen” of corruption while the investigation was still underway, is widely considered to be a joke. Law-enforcement officials leaked the information that the FBI does not plan to file criminal charges related to the probe.
