Paul Schur is moving up in the world. Discovery Channel has named him Vice President of Communications. Schur was previously Senior Director of Publicity for the channel, where “he created and executed strategies to raise awareness and visibility of programming that included the network’s #1 series, Gold Rush, in addition to Moonshiners, All the President’s Men Revisited, Jungle Gold, The Presidents’ Gatekeepers and Shark Week.”
He’ll continue to report to Laurie Goldberg, Executive Vice President of Public Relations for Discovery Channel, TLC and DFH.
Schur has more than a decade of public relations experience, including surviving Washington’s Fox News bureau as Director of Media Relations. Before Fox News, Schur worked for CNN in Atlanta. Schur began his CNN career with CNN Interactive where he managed publicity efforts for CNN’s online political coverage and served as a spokesperson for CNN.com.
