When Mother Jones Washington Bureau Chief and MSNBC Contributor David Corn didn’t get his oil delivery to his Takoma Park, Md. home before last night’s snowstorm, he didn’t handle the matter quietly. He pitched a fit. On Twitter. And got 10 emergency gallons of oil delivered to his home by 3 a.m. Still, it wasn’t all the oil he needed. So he bitched some more.
The drama began at 7:21 p.m.
Blizzard is coming. And my oil ran put today. On the phone with Petro Oil. They’re saying no deliveries tonight. Really, @PetroHome?

And continued.
.@PetroHome says no oil tonight. But don’t worry, they’ll deliver later tomorrow. Do they not know a snowstorm is coming? #BackOnHold

And continued some more.
My contract with @PetroHome is for deliveries BEFORE heating oil runs out.

The company apologized. But apologies aren’t going to keep someone as cold as Corn warm (just kidding, he’s not all that cold, but he does occasionally have a flaring temper).
.@PetroHome customer rep keeps apologizing. For what? Poor service. #ApologiesDontKeepUsWarm
— David Corn (@DavidCornDC) February 13, 2014
By 8:01 p.m., hope emerged.
.@petrohome says they’re going to try to get us a few gallons tonight. Preliminary thanks to those working on this. I’ll report back.

PetroHome tweeted back at him that help was on the way.
@DavidCornDC We are sending delivery tonight. Staying on top of this until resolved. Apologize for the situation.
— Petro (@PetroHome) February 13, 2014
Corn was grateful for at least 30 seconds.
.@PetroHome made it to my house with 10 emergency gallons at 3 am. Will last until noon. Now waiting for promised full delivery. #Suspense

At 9:39 p.m. he got in a dig at conservatives who had heckled him.
Amazing how conservative jerks think a cold house due to nondelivery of heating oil is justifiable revenge for concern re climate change.
— David Corn (@DavidCornDC) February 13, 2014
By 12:48 p.m. Thursday, Corn got his full oil delivery.
.@PetroHome just made a regular delivery. Thanks. Furnace is firing. Back to work!
