Retired basketball legend-turned NBA commentator Charles Barkley decided Thursday to stop into a New Orleans karaoke bar, where he chose to sing the hip hop classic “Gin and Juice” by Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre at the Cat’s Meow.
What followed wasn’t pretty, but it was entertaining. Barkley doesn’t seem to be very familiar with the lyrics, nor is he able to carry any sort of a tune.
Regardless, the audience, no doubt nursing their fourth hurricane of the night, loved it. Fifty-year-old Barkley seemed to enjoy himself as well, so more power to him. As long as he doesn’t start pursuing a music career.
