Thanks to 10 years worth of data on “Facebook official” relationships, the number one social media platform in the world can now predict when your relationship will face deletion.
Facebook data scientist Bogdan State analyzed the relationship status data of users from 2008 to 2011 and found that if couples can keep the status official for at least three months, their relationship is likely to survive four years or more.
Bogdan’s conclusions proved true in about half of all Facebook relationships, which included relationships between individuals at least 23 years old and not listed as “Married.”

Relationships tend to end most often in the summer according to the study, and breakups increased overall in 2011.
