Team U.S.A. received a surprise visit from Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday in what quickly became an irresistible opportunity for Sochi selfies.
Though no athlete proved brave enough to ask the the Russian president directly to appear in a photo, Putin can be seen a safe distance away in numerous Friday morning tweets from U.S. Olympic headquarters.
