A Mirror tipster spotted Fox News “Media Buzz” host Howard Kurtz and his perpetual sidekick Lauren Ashburn at the Union Station Papyrus today buying Valentine’s Day gifts. Ashburn often appears on Kurtz’ Sunday program, as she did when he hosted “Reliable Sources” over on CNN.
When Kurtz worked at The Daily Beast, Ashburn came along and became a contributor. After The Daily Beast canned Kurtz, an always loyal Ashburn also left and trailed along with him to Fox News. The pair have also worked together at The Daily Download, which died in December. The Wire wrote this curious and suggestive piece about the pair last August. Gawker has called his relationship with Ashburn “persistent.”
Our tipster sent in this absurdly out of focus picture (don’t get us wrong, we’re ridiculously thankful). Howie is the shadowy figure at the register, not the male being directly to Ashburn’s left.
