Who’s Politico’s daddy? Not MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough

Wait, did Politico just snub Joe Scarborough?

MSNBC “Morning Joe” co-host and hearty speech giver has been playing it coy lately as to whether he wants to run for president in 2016. On Hugh Hewitt’s radio show he says he “won’t rule anything out,” but on ABC’s The View, to Barbara Walters, it’s “no no” with his sidekick Mika Brzezinksi jumping in with a defiant chirp that yes, he’s absolutely a potential contender. “Do others want him to run?” she told Walters. “Yes.” To Hewitt, he added, “I’ve always said I wanted to get back in, it’s just a matter of time and we’ll see what happens.”

This morning in Politico Playbook, the place that would promote Scarborough for anything considering the rosy relations between the two news outlets, there was no mention of him in the 16 possible Republicans who may throw their hat in ring. Among the possibles are former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and the most boring interviewee ever, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.

“Who’re we missing?” asks Playbook author Mike Allen. “Please send us your smart thoughts: mallen@politico.com.”

Apparently smart thoughts, at least for today, do not include Scarbrough.
