Amanda Bynes was convicted of reckless driving on Monday. The conviction came after an April 2012 arrest for driving under the influence.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the actress’ lawyer issued a no-contest plea, which dropped her charge down to reckless driving. She received a three year probation sentence along with an alcohol education course.
A stream of bizarre behavior followed her arrest in 2012. Bynes was said to have set fire to a driveway in Thousand Oaks. She also is on probation in California for driving under a suspended license.
In May 2013, she was taken into custody after she threw a bong from her apartment in New York City.
Bynes was taken to a psychiatric treatment facility and was recently released under the supervision of her parents. Bynes has continued treatment and has been taking college courses.
Her case had been delayed to review her mental condition. A judge added her back to the calendar finding her to be mentally competent, according to CNN.com.
Upon release from the Malibu treatment center, Bynes was placed in the custody of her parents. Her parents have stated that she is continuing treatments weekly.
The 27-year-old actress began her career at the age of 10 in 1996. The star enjoyed fame early with “The Amanda Show.”
