NASCAR great Jeff Gordon pulled of an epic revenge prank to punk Jalopnik’s auto blogger Travis Okulski, a writer who has questioned the authenticity of Gordon’s previous viral Pepsi Max commercial.
In last year’s commercial, Gordon took an unsuspecting car salesman on a high-powered test-drive, leaving the salesman hysterically screaming and boiling mad.
But Okulsi didn’t believe the prank was real.
“After watching the video a number of times, a few little things started to jump out at me that just didn’t sit right,” he wrote at Jalopnik last year. “I spoke to someone who was on site during the filming of the video, and they confirmed that nearly everything you saw on screen was fake.”
He went on to further criticize the commercial, even claiming that Jeff Gordon was actually never present as the maniac undercover driver.
Produced by a division of Will Ferrell’s “Funny or Die” company with the help of Pepsi Max, the new video shows Gordon taking Okulsi on the ride of his life.
The result is in one word: epic.
