Woman with cancer hits back at Harry Reid, Democrats for attack [VIDEO]

Julie Boonstra is a woman who shared her Obamacare ordeal with Michigan voters through an ad paid for by Americans for Prosperity — a national, grassroots organization that really doesn’t want D.C. taking over health care. And in the past two weeks, she has had the dubious distinction of adding being called a liar by the leader of the U.S. Senate to her list of worries — a list that already included a potentially deadly cancer, being the single mother of two children and, well, that Obamacare thing. (BEDFORD: The (real) life of Julie)

Last Friday, Rep. Gary Peters [D], who is running to join Reid in Washington as one of Michigan’s senators, threatened a television station airing the message: His lawyers wrote a letter saying that the station just might lose its broadcasting license. (VIDEO: This Democratic Senate wannabe just picked a fight with a mother who has cancer)

And on the following Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid took to the floor of the Senate to say, “those tales turned out to be just that: Tales — stories made up from whole cloth; lies distorted by the Republicans to grab headlines-forming political advertisements.” (Harry Reid: Koch brothers ‘un-American’)

Boonstra hit back on Tuesday, with a new ad telling her story since the attacks from Reid and Peters.

“My name is Julie Boonstra and I have leukemia,” Boonstra says as the ad begins. “Being diagnosed with the cancer, that was the scariest thing i have ever faced. Because of Obamacare, I am now stuck with a plan that doesn’t work for me. My choice was taken away from me. All I want is to be listened to. There are thousands of people out there who are hurting because of Obamacare. When I heard that Congressman Peters was going after my credibility, it was devastating. I just want Congressman Peters to help me, to listen to me. Instead, he’s trying to silence me. Cancer is hard enough — I just want to be happy with my plan and I want it for everyone else out there who’s being hurt by this. I’m trying to speak out for you and I’m trying to get Washington to listen to us.”
