Doctor selling ‘Jesus shots’ that promise to take away pain for life

A convicted felon who happens to be a doctor has been peddling “Jesus shots” to unsuspecting Oklahomans.

Dr. John Michael Lonergan, better known as “Doctor Mike,” has served time in prison for tax evasion, mail fraud and health-care fraud.

Dr. Mike claims that the “Jesus shot” takes away any pain for the rest of one’s life for the low price of $300. When Oklahoma’s News 9 contacted a clinic where Lonergan worked part time, the receptionist had no idea what was in the concoction.

The director of the clinic, Barbie Schrick, was unaware that Lonergan was offering the snake oil to patients there.

“I am so glad you’re telling me about this. Thank God for the news that investigates and finds things out for people,” Schrick told News 9. “Thank you.”

Lonergan had his medical license revoked in 2005, but it was reinstated under a supervision requirement in 2012. In March 2013, the supervision was removed and allowed Lonergan to practice medicine without any oversight.
