NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. — In a backstage interview after his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday, Donald Trump talked to The Daily Caller about why he is a conservative, what his critics don’t get about him and why he says he’s considering a run for president in 2016.

During his afternoon speech to CPAC, the New York real estate mogul talked up his business background and boasted of creating jobs with recent real estate developments. He specifically talked about his plans for opening up a fancy new hotel in Washington in the historic Old Post Office building.

“Tremendous numbers of jobs, lots of money going into it and it will be perhaps the most luxurious hotel, when we’re finished, anywhere in the world,” he said.

“Right on Pennsylvania. Right next to the White House,” Trump said of the planned hotel, to the applause of the audience.
