Family calls 911 on their very large cat [VIDEO]

A family in Portland, Ore. called 911 — the same emergency number people call when they’ve been shot or witnessed a robbery — on their black and white cat named Lux.

To be fair, the cat weighs 22 pounds and had attacked a seven-month-old, KPTV Portland reports.

Lee Palmer hid in the bedroom with his girlfriend and young son as he called 911 because the cat, who has a “history of violence,”  “went over the edge” and was charging at the door.

“He’s trying to attack us,” Palmer said during the call. “He’s very, very, very, very hostile.”

According to Portland police, Lux “tried to escape custody” after the police opened the door to the apartment.

Police trapped Lux in a cage and went on their merry way. “The cat remained behind bars in the custody of the family, and officers cleared the scene and continued to fight crime elsewhere in the city,” Portland PD said in a statement.
