Really Cool Guy and former Secretary of State Colin Powell made selfies cool over 60 years before Kim Kardashian did.
Powell posted the photo to Facebook on Thursday with the caption, “Throwback Thursday – I was doing selfies 60 years before you Facebook folks. Eat your heart out Ellen!”
“Throwback Thursday” is a day that kids these days dedicated to posting old — or “throwback — photos to social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Powell also called out Ellen DeGeneres who took a group selfie during the Oscars that became the most retweeted tweet of all time. (Is there enough millennial jargon in this paragraph for you?)
Unfortunately, the photo is not an official “throwback Thursday” image because he did not include a hashtag.
