Here’s one candidate who cuts to the chase.
State Sen. Joni Ernst, an Iowa Republican running in a crowded primary for the U.S. Senate, boasts of her history castrating hogs in a new 30-second ad.
“I grew up castrating hogs on an Iowa farm, so when I get to Washington, I’ll know how to cut pork,” Ernst says.
“Washington’s full of big spenders,” she says. “Let’s make ’em squeal.”
Ernst is running for the seat of Democratic Sen. Tom Harkin, who is retiring.
