Donald Trump is looking to stick his pompadour into the NFL. Trump announced late Monday that he is interested in purchasing the Buffalo Bills.

He told Buffalo News, “I’m going to give it a heavy shot. I would love to do it, and if I can do it, I’m keeping it in Buffalo.” Sources have said that Trump has spoken to Bills President and CEO Russ Brandon at least two times and is serious about the investment.

Trump also responded to rumors that the new owner might move the team to Los Angeles or Toronto. Trump said, “I live in New York, and it’s easier for me to go to Buffalo than any other place. Where am I going to move it, some place on the other side of the country, where I have to travel for five hours?”

The NFL owners could vote on who gets to purchase the team as early as October 2014, but it’s more likely that they would wait until a meeting in December or March. Trump is the only potential buyer to publicly state his intent, although the owner of the Buffalo Sabres, Terry Pegula, and rock star Bon Jovi have been whispered about as well.
