Krystle Kopacz has been promoted to a newly created role of COO of National Journal Group. CEO Tim Hartman announced the news today. She joined Atlantic Media in 2010. Under her leadership, they report that Government Executive’s revenue grew from 50-70 percent. Yada yada yada…they hope she’ll add “leadership” and “focus” to the brand.

The internal memo…

Colleagues,

I’m pleased to announce the appointment of Krystle Kopacz to the role of Chief Operating Officer for National Journal Group.  In this newly-created role, Krystle will work closely with the leadership of National Journal Group and Government Executive Media Group to set strategy across all products, catalyze new product development, and ensure we integrate digital tools and practices into everything we do.  Krystle also will directly oversee our growing digital portfolio and digital operations across both divisions.

This is the next step in a long series of accomplishments for Krystle. After joining Atlantic Media in 2010, she led Government Executive Media Group’s digital business as it evolved into the growth engine of the entire business. Under her leadership, GEMG digital revenue grew from 50% to 70% of total revenues. Most recently, Krystle led the brand development and launch of Defense One, which won a Neal Award for Best Website in business media only nine months after launch

National Journal and Government Executive have healthy digital businesses on which we can build. Both enterprises have seen tremendous traffic and revenue growth in the past year, and have outstanding product and design teams supporting the business. With Krystle’s promotion to COO, I hope to add leadership and focus to our broader digital strategy, and to accelerate our advance toward our digital future.

Please join me in congratulating Krystle on her promotion.

Best,

Tim
