A woman’s cat rescued her son from a vicious dog attack Tuesday in Bakersfield, Calif., and the whole thing was caught on camera.
The boy is riding his bike in the driveway when a nearby dog catches wind of him from the other side of a large SUV. The dog circles the car, hesitates, then latches onto the boy’s leg from behind, apparently without making a sound. The boy is caught completely off-guard and ripped off his bike.
As the dog is trying to drag him away, the family’s cat, named Tara, runs onto the scene, frightens the dog off the child, and then chases it away before taking shelter under the SUV. The boy, mom and cat then run inside.
The mom told a local ABC affiliate the boy had stitches, but is doing fine, and the dog, which belongs to a neighbor, is under observation.
