People are upset at a high school pitcher for pitching a whopping 194 times in a single game Tuesday. Dylan Fosnacht of Rochester High School pitched 14 innings in his district district tournament, helping lead his school to victory.
So why are people outraged? Immediately on hearing the large amount of pitches, people became concerned about Fosnacht’s health. The norm for MLB is to take a pitcher out after 100 pitches to prevent long term injuries, like elbow ligament tears, requiring extensive surgery.
Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price showed concern to the teen, even calling for his coach to be fired.
haha you’re a beast @DFosnacht5 …but let’s be a little smarter brotha!! Love the competitiveness though!! #urcoachshouldbefired

Fosnacht repeatedly responded to critics on his Twitter.
Some people think it’s awesome, some people think it’s ridiculous. I personally loved every minute of it and it’s a great memory to have

So I won’t be able to pitch in 5 years? Well it’s a good thing I’m a pretty solid middle infielder which is where I play 90 % of the time

People just don’t understand. I’m not a ace pitcher, I’m a infielder who pitches every now and then. Not a prospect ruining there career

People need to chill

Assistant coach Kyle Sprague was the one who made the decision to pull Fosnacht at the top of the 15th and replace him with catcher Dustin Wilson. Sprague told MaxPreps, “I have never seen two guys take the mound and dominate like that for that long. I have both of those guys in class, and they both said that their arms were fine today.”
