A new extended trailer for CW’s “The Flash” series centering on the DC Comic book hero of the same name shows the origin behind the the universe’s fastest man alive, and gives a glimpse of the world he’ll be helping to save “in a flash.”

The five-minute-plus trailer filled with fun comic cliches has gone viral overnight, and explains how Barry Allen (played by Grant Gustin) acquires his super powers, and joins the comic book universe already established by the network’s popular contemporary Robin Hood series “Arrow.”
Green Arrow himself appears in the trailer and hints at a future of criss-crossing story arcs with the series that birthed Flash, and inspired his own spinoff.
“The Flash” debuts fall 2014 on CW.
