Will You Soon Be Able To Drink Your Sunscreen?

Pale people rejoice. You might be able to avoid turning into a lobster without slathering yourself in thick white goo.

Harmonised H20, a company founded by Dr. Ben Johnson, has released “UV Neutralizer” — a product designed to act as sunscreen when mixed with water and ingested. It sells for a little over $28 for 100mL.

According to Johnson’s blog, the product works by some strange osmosis theory. He wrote, “If 2 mls are ingested an hour before sun exposure, the frequencies that have been imprinted on water will vibrate on your skin in such a way as to cancel approximately 97 percet of the UVA and UVB rays before they even hit your skin. This results in coverage for approximately three hours.”

Not too surprisingly, this product has not been endorsed by any sort of dermatological group. While the company website printed a favorable review “via Facebook,” the only review found on the company’s Facebook page reads, “Utter nonsense.”

We can always hope.
