Wednesday’s release is the latest in a series of major announcements about the silver-screen version of DC’s comic book universe, including director Zack Snyder’s Twitter reveal last week of Ben Affleck’s new Batman costume and Batmobile. Weeks before, Warner Bros. Entertainment announced that “Batman v. Superman” would be a prequel to a full “Justice League” movie.
Henry Cavill will reprise his role as the last son of Krypton, with Gal Gadot joining the cast as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, and Ray Fisher as fellow Justice League hero Cyborg.
Filming has already begun, and the movie has a theater release date of May 6, 2016.
