The sequel to 2013’s “Man of Steel” featuring a showdown between DC Comic’s and Hollywood’s biggest superheroes finally has an official title: “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

A new logo accompanied the announcement made on the official “Man of Steel” Twitter feed.

Wednesday’s release is the latest in a series of major announcements about the silver-screen version of DC’s comic book universe, including director Zack Snyder’s Twitter reveal last week of Ben Affleck’s new Batman costume and Batmobile. Weeks before, Warner Bros. Entertainment announced that “Batman v. Superman” would be a prequel to a full “Justice League” movie.

Henry Cavill will reprise his role as the last son of Krypton, with Gal Gadot joining the cast as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, and Ray Fisher as fellow Justice League hero Cyborg.

Filming has already begun, and the movie has a theater release date of May 6, 2016.
