Woody Allen’s new film is the director’s latest project to feature an older man (Colin Firth, playing a British stand-in for Allen himself) falling in love with a very young woman (Emma Stone).
“Magic In the Moonlight” is set in the past (obviously) on the South of France (of course) and is about a woman who claims to be a medium and a much older — but handsome! — illusionist who is skeptical of her powers, but then starts to believe her and in the meantime falls in love with her. (No, these are not spoilers, but everything that happens during this three-minute trailer.)
It’s like “Scoop” meets “Midnight In Paris.” Let’s hope it’s much more like the latter.
