Otters at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo have some new entertainment in their lives — a keyboard.
As part of the zoo’s “animal enrichment,” the Asian small-clawed otters have a keyboard just outside their cage. It’s close enough for them to reach their little paws through the openings and practice their tunes.
One of the otters in particular seems to be enjoying the keyboard (set to organ-tones) as it runs its paws up and down the keys, moving back and forth to reach different octaves.
