The Daily Beast is so sensitive when it comes to overweight children.

Today, a column by Michael Tomasky who asserts that Republicans want more overweight children in the world. “It should not come as a surprise to us that now Republicans want more fat kids,” he writes. “And the reason Republicans want more fat kids is straightforward and predictable: Michelle Obama wants fewer of them. And that’s all they need to know.”

What these “fat kids” need to know, according to an ad placed within the text of the story, is that they can get gastric sleeve surgery for the low low price of $4499. Lap band is even lower at $4049. “Great financing options available,” the ad assures. A click inside and they make it sound like summer camp. “The best service and friendliest staff you’ll ever meet. Friendly atmosphere: you’ll make friends and have a great time.”

Yeah, good times.

Nice ad placement Daily Beast! How helpful.
