This Week In Masturbating School Cops, Kids Forced To Pee In Trash, Kindergartners Crossing Highways Alone

As another school year draws to a close, there has been no lack of news about public school teachers – and public school cops – doing oddly terrible things.

At Miami Edison High School in Miami, Fla., for example, the campus cop submitted his resignation this week after local Fox affiliate WSVN received some footage showing him masturbating in his office.

The circumstances about how on earth the video came into existence are hazy, but the school police officer, 43-year-old Steven Rodgers, seems to have willingly allowed someone to film him as he did the deed right then inside Edison High. (Alarmingly, WSVN also decided America would want to see a censored version of the footage.)

During a certain segment in the video, an anonymous female hand reportedly appears. The details of exactly what that hand was doing have not been disclosed. Investigators did note that they believe the hand belongs to an adult woman.

“This is a very serious incident,” Miami-Dade Schools Police Chief Ian Moffett told WSVN. “The school district, along with the police department, uh, we do not condone this type of behavior.”

Meanwhile, a couple of Memphis-area teachers have been suspended without pay for some amazingly questionable decisions, according to local CBS affiliate WREG.

The Shelby County school board has brought formal charges against kindergarten teacher Karen Johnson because she decided to let a kindergarten boy walk over a mile home – apparently by himself.

The unidentified kid successfully crossed two major highways on his journey. He ended up having to shuffle home because he missed his usual bus.

“She should get in trouble,” aghast parent Kim Bateman told WREG. “You can’t do that. Anything could happen.”

The school board may fire Johnson after an upcoming tenure hearing.

Potential employment termination also looms for Gregory Matthews, a suspended English teacher at Northwest Prep Academy.

Matthews got booted from his teaching duties after he allegedly refused to allow a student to walk down the hall to use the restroom. Instead, for some reason, he told the student to pee in a trashcan in his classroom.

Naturally, as WREG notes, other students in the class videotaped the trash toilet brouhaha.

Masturbation by teachers and school cops is officially a thing across America this year. Kids facing obstacles in their quests to go to the bathroom and wandering across major roadways have already made news this year, too.

In February, a 72-year old substitute teacher at a public high school in suburban Connecticut proved that he’s still got it when he was busted for allegedly masturbating right there in a hallway. (RELATED: Substitute Teacher, 72, Arrested For Furiously Masturbating In High School Hallway)

Also in February, the director of public safety at Concordia University Chicago was charged with two misdemeanors because, police said, he masturbated into a shoe belonging to a female school employee. The employee of the decidedly Lutheran school said she found the man, Tim Margis, in her office. Later, she claimed, she found a mysterious “clear liquid” on the inside of a shoe she had left in the office. This month, two third-grade girls in Vancouver, Wash. said they wet their pants after their teacher would not let them use the bathroom because they hadn’t accumulated enough pretend classroom money to pay for that privilege. In February, an angry pair of California parents sued their second-grade daughter’s school district after the girl was left completely unattended and went wandering around town all by herself in the middle of a school day. She moseyed down a busy road, traipsed over an interstate overpass, stopped into a Walmart, and eventually ambled into an On the Border fast-casual restaurant to ask for a cup of water.
