A small plane nearly hit some guy sunbathing right in front of the airstrip as it was attempting to land, Monday.
German tabloid Bild obtained footage of the Piper PA-28-181 Archer II descending towards the airstrip on Heligoland, an island in northern Germany, narrowly missing a man lying face down in the sand, and then knocking down a fence post before slowing down, reports The Telegraph.
The man who shot the video called the man “very lucky.”
The pilot, Juergen Drucker, 52, said he didn’t see the man, and apologized. “I have to say, as the pictures show, that it wasn’t one of my greatest achievements in the cockpit,” said Drucker. “I fear I will be in for a fine from the Federal Aviation Office but I hope I will be able to keep my license,” he added.
The unnamed man was reportedly seen standing up and walking away.
