A ministry in Alabama, Life Savers Ministries, is removing a billboard it put up Friday, which has a quote from Adolf Hitler, followed by a Bible verse and a picture of smiling children.
The billboard, which never mentions the name of Life Savers Ministries reads, “He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future- Adolf Hitler” and “Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.- Proverbs 22:6.”
After an outpouring of public outrage over the genocidal leader’s words being lauded next to the Bible, founder James Anderegg told the Ledger-Enquirer that the billboard is coming down.
“We are pulling the billboard and certainly never intended to cause confusion. … Herbert Hoover would have been a far better one to quote when he said, ‘Children are our most valuable resource.’ We are a children’s organization and had honorable intentions and nothing less.”

Life Savers Ministries is a Christian group based in Opelika and Auburn, Alabama focused on helping at-risk youth. The Hitler quote was spoken during a speech in 1935 when the Fuhrer tried to drum up more youth interest in the Nazi movement.
