Believe it or not, before he was a comedian and actor, Adam Carolla was a boxing instructor.

So during The Daily Caller’s extensive interview with Carolla about politics, Hollywood and his new book, “President Me: The America That’s in My Head,” we asked Carolla about why Mayweather-Pacquiao still hasn’t happened, what should be done to fix what ails boxing and what he thinks of Bernard Hopkins continuing to win championship belts at 49.

“As a 49-year-old, as an ex-boxer and as an African American — or at least one who has the hair of an African American — it’s unbelievable,” Carolla said of Hopkins’ athletic achievement. “And it just goes to show you — not only great work ethic, great stamina, all that kind of stuff — but being slick, which he is, he’s not just walking forward. You know, he’s not doing what Micky Ward did, you know, just walking forward absorbing punches. He is slick and when you are slick, you can give away some years.”

Watch the video to see Carolla share his views on the latest boxing news.
