CNN anchor Chris Cuomo was perhaps a little too honest during a Monday morning broadcast on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential prospects, noting that she’s received “just a free ride from the media” and that “we’re the biggest ones promoting her campaign.”

Cuomo spoke with co-host Brooke Baldwin about Clinton’s continuing reluctance to officially throw her name in the ring of Democratic presidential candidates despite many indications she will run — including this week’s release of her new book, “Hard Choices.”

“She’s doing what they call in politics ‘freezing pockets,'” Cuomo explained, “because the donors are giving her money thinking she’s going to run, that means they’re not going to have money available to other candidates if she doesn’t — and I don’t think she’s gonna give it to them.”

“She’s ‘on her way'” Baldwin said, quoting Hillary’s cryptic promise to be “on her way” to deciding to run by the end of this year.

“We’ll see,” Cuomo, the brother of Democratic New York Governor and possible presidential aspirant Andrew Cuomo, replied. “We couldn’t help her any more than we have. She’s got just a free ride so far from the media! We’re the biggest ones promoting her campaign, so it better happen.”
