Actor Tracy Morgan of “30 Rock” and “Saturday Night Live” fame might have his leg amputated after a six-car collision that left the comedian in critical condition. On Monday, MediatTakeOut.com cited an anonymous source who works at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, where Morgan is undergoing recovery, as saying doctors are doing everything they can to help Morgan recover.

“[Tracy] suffered a number of traumatic injuries, the most serious is his leg,” the source said. “It was crushed during the accident. [Doctors] are working hard to save his leg, but it looks like they may have to amputate.”

Morgan underwent surgery to repair his leg Sunday and was said to be in critical condition.

The accident occurred when Wal-Mart truck driver Kevin Roper hit the limo Morgan was riding in. The crash killed one man and injured four, including Morgan. Roper appeared before court Monday morning on one count of felony death by auto and four counts of assault by auto, according to ABC News.

Prosecutors are focusing on whether or not Roper fell asleep at the wheel before the accident. Wal-Mart has promised to take full responsibility for the accident if Roper was the cause of it.
