Want to know what personality you portray through Facebook?

A new website, Five Labs, gathers your status updates and gives you a few insights on yourself.

Below your name, there are 5 attributes, such as efficient, curious or assertive. In the middle of the screen, there is a spider web graph with five specific qualities: extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism and openness. The chart gives you a percentage of how much of each quality you possess, and the results are weirdly accurate.

Not only that, but you can compare yourself to your friends, and even to celebrities and politicians, such as President Obama. Although it may not be as accurate when it comes to famous figures (since many times they don’t upload it themselves), the results are not far-fetched. When it comes to friends, the application will search their Facebook, without needing their permission.

The website says it is committed to privacy, and will never store any information, nor post anything on your Facebook.

People treat Facebook differently, some posting only the necessary minimum, others sharing their daily lives through it. It’s interesting that a website can say so much about us, if not a little creepy.
