Another Embarrassing Miss USA Gaffe [VIDEO]

Miss USA 2014 winner Nia Sanchez failed to name the capital of her home state of Nevada Monday following a pop quiz probably designed to embarrass her, so lots of stories could be written.

“Let’s do a quiz,” a radio announcer says in the video published by TMZ. “What’s the capital of Nevada?”

She’s got nothing, so someone tells her it’s Carson City.

Sanchez recovers by telling everyone she normally remembers it in connection to Carson Daly, but presumably she forgot him too in the moment.

Her shocking gaffe is fueling reports that Nevada never was her home state, and she competed there only because she lost three times in Miss California competitions. That’s clearly the only explanation, since beauty queen gaffes are pretty unheard of.
