A Thursday update on the injury Harrison Ford sustained on the set of “Star Wars: Episode VII” revealed the actor broke his leg in the accident, and faces eight weeks of recovery.

In a statement last week Disney stated the 71-year-old actor injured his ankle and was airlifted to a hospital in England, where parts of the film are being shot on a Pinewood Studios set in Buckinghamshire.

A Hollywood Reporter source claimed a door of the Millennium Falcon — the spaceship belonging to Ford’s character Han Solo — malfunctioned and fell on the actor’s ankle.

Ford representative Ina Treciokas confirmed the original report and revealed the greater extent of Ford’s injury.

“Harrison’s left leg was broken in the accident,” Treciokas wrote in a statement according to the BBC. “His surgery was successful and he will begin rehab shortly. He’s doing well and looks forward to returning to work.”

Disney told TheWrap that director J.J. Abrams will continue shooting, and that the movie will stay on schedule until Ford recovers.
