Lawmakers need props for their causes — and this happens to be a good one that is also personal. Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz. ) will host a press conference Tuesday in which he’ll use a 10-year-old daughter from TV’s Duck Dynasty to help promote his cause: An organization, The Mia Moo Fund, that raises funds to help children in the U.S.
Mia is the daughter of Jase and Missy Robertson. The organization was founded in 2014 after Mia completed surgery for a cleft lip and palate. As it happens, Congressman Franks was born with a severe cleft lip and palate. Doctors warned he may not live long. He had his first operation at just 2 weeks old.
At the presser, Mia will talk about her struggles.
