Politico Seeks Assistance From Reputation Institute

Politico has reached out to Manhattan’s Reputation Institute to help them understand reader opinions about some larger companies. There’s a hook: Responders “who qualify” (whatever that means) and finish the study could win an iPad Air or contribute have the money donated to charity.

So what’s the Reputation Institute? The website sounds almost as lofty as Politico sometimes does. They are the “world’s leading reputation-based advisory firm” founded by Dr. Charles Fombrun and Dr. Cees van Riel back in 1997. They have offices in 3o countries around the world. Their expertise is helping organizations increase their relationships with stakeholders.

Some of the questions: “Have you read Politico in the last month? When thinking about the financial services industry, what is the first company that comes to mind?” Other questions ask you to rate your trust of companies like Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase & Company, CitGroup, Goldman Sachs and Bank of America.

The survey, which says it takes about 10 minutes to complete, is torturously boring. Let’s just hope I qualify to win that iPad Air.

Here is the letter that some of the chosen are receiving today. Let’s just hope I qualify to win that mini iPad.

Dear POLITICO reader,

Reputation Institute is conducting a survey on behalf of POLITICO to understand reader opinions about some large companies.

Whether you have participated in these types of surveys in the past, or not, we would very much appreciate if you could take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire online. Just click on the survey site URL link shown below.

All respondents who qualify and complete the survey will be entered into either a drawing to win an iPad Air, or have a contribution of equal value made to one of the three charities of your choice: Doctors Without Borders, The International Red Cross, or the World Wildlife Fund.

Because only a select group of readers has been selected for this survey, your individual reply is most important to its success. All answers are confidential and will be used only in combination with others for a statistical picture.
