Former child star and one-or-two-hit wonder Charlotte Church admitted she will actually have to work the rest of her life, because she only has some millions of pounds left (gasp).

At the height of her fame in 2003, Church was reportedly worth $42.8 million, but by 2010 she was down to $18.8 million and last year had a measly $13.7 million, reported the Daily Mail Tuesday, so she’s going to get a degree in physics.

‘I will have to work for the rest of my life,” she said in a BBC One Wales interview. “Not because I want to but because I have to.”

“The tax man is looking at my accounts wondering where I’m hiding all my money,” she added.

The “Voice of an Angel” singer switched briefly from classical to pop, and then set up her own record label, Alligator Wine. She’s sold more than ten million records. Church also hosted the “Charlotte Church Show” for a few years and released two autobiographies, which someone apparently read.

“I haven’t got a lot of money,” she told Stylist magazine in February. “I’ve got enough to be comfortable if I was reasonable for the rest of my life, but I’m not reasonable, so I will have to find a way to sustain my lifestyle.

Church lives with her two kids and her latest partner, Jonathan Powell, in a 1930s villa in the Vale of Glamorgan.
